Backstage Fun (Part II)

Hello dear fellow fashionistas! Sorry for being on hiatus for such a long time without any word. I got sick on Christmas day (lucky me - what a beautiful gift!) and what I thought was just an innocent flu turned into a severe bronchitis. It's not an excuse for disappearing from the surface of earth -I mean, internet- but feeling sick got me a little depressed and I felt like doing nothing (and nothing seemed interesting). I even didn't feel like logging on facebook (which I didn't do for almost 9 days believe it or not).

Enough complaining, now I'm back for good. I promised you a giveaway on the blog, but unfortunately there's still some "adjustments" to make before it's ready (but I'm super impatient). Stay tuned! For now, let me present you another series of pictures I love collecting on my computer: backstage photos! Hope you'll enjoy! And for those who wrote me e-mails or comments or visited me or follow me on Google Connect, give me a couple a days and I'll answer and visit all of you! I love you guys, thanks for visiting me (even though I was absent) and for leaving beautiful comments!

Favorite Model: Ginta Lapina

Hey People! Be ready on Saturday to enter my first giveaway on the blog. The only clue I can give you is: creation.

Just before, I'd like to present you today as a sequel to my Models Posts Serie, my favorite model of the moment: Ginta Lapina.

Ginta was born in Riga, Latvia. She began her modeling career on March 2005 when she was scouted on street of Riga by Nils Raumanis, the founder of DANDY model management in Riga, Latvia. She was then placed with MC2 Model Management in New York. Her big runway debut was at the Spring 2008 New York Fashion Week in the Benjamin Cho show.

In 2008 she finally signed with model agency Women Management, which is now her mother agency. Lapiņa has since walked in shows for many notable designers in the Milan, Paris, London, and New York fashion weeks including Anna Sui, Nina Ricci, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Vivienne Westwood, Miu Miu, Yves Saint Laurent, Carolina Herrera, Bottega Veneta, Versace, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton.

Ginta has been photographed in editorials for notable fashion magazines such as Russian Vogue, Marie Claire, Numéro, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue Italia, American Vogue, Dazed & Confused and Flair, and has been featured on the cover of Velvet Magazine.

She's currently ranked 31rst on the Top 50 Models Women List by Models.com. She's featured in Yves Saint Laurent beauty advertising since Summer 2010. For the year 2011 she's featured in Miu Miu, Anna Sui, Jill Stuart Beauty, Galliano, Sportmax and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Lapina's hobbies include listening to rap music, swimming, and playing volleyball. Her model friends include Viktoriya Sasonkina, Olga Sherer, Mina Cvetkovic, and Kinga Rajzak (Source: Wikipedia).

What do you think of her? Which model would you like me to present you in my future posts (I received Lindsey Wixson as a suggestion for now)?

Beauty Fall/Winter 2011-2012 (Part 1)

I might sound like a CD stuck on repeat, but I want to thank you again for visiting my blog and leaving me beautiful comments. The number of visitors is increasing and it makes me happy as heaven (yes as heaven, not as hell - I love inventing new expressions). Following the suggestion of many, I consider making an outfit post soon though I'm still a little bit shy of posting pictures of myself on the internet. Shopping for the Christmas Holidays inspires me a lot so once I'll have overcome shyness...

Talking about the holidays, I thought a beauty post would please some of you. I love looking at backstage beauty shots to get some ideas for my make-up (especially for Christmas). What kind of makeup will you wear for the Holidays?
